Summer concerts of traditional Newfoundland and Celtic music at Beyond Baccalieu.
Lots of walking trails around town - visit the Big Hill boardwalk, the restored fishing cookhouse, the rock walls or Cabot Rock memorial, the Motion and Glass Cutting Hole, Wiggy's Beach and Flat Rocks, or our resident eagle's nest in the Heart Cove.
Wildlife viewing - on your walks, keep an eye out for whales, moose, foxes and a large variety of land and seabirds!
Go to Dancing Place Pond for a refreshing swim; the nearest beach is Northern Bay Sands, a 30 minute drive on the Baccalieu Trail
Lots of local trouting ponds in the surrounding areas
If the "Food Fishery" is on, we can arrange to take you out to catch your very own cod!
If you love photography, this is the place for you! Scenic beauty abounds; take a drive around the Conception Bay or Trinity Bay shores for the day, and you will have numerous photo opportunities. In Grates Cove you will see lots of whales from shore, and when the season is right, icebergs come right by our door!
Drop in Beyond Baccalieu's Cafe and Gift Shop; have a nice meal and a drink on our deck overlooking the cove. Watch the "goings on" at the wharf below, as the local fishermen land their catch.
