Will of James Churchill - 1858

 

Know all men by these presents that I James Churchill Senr Planter of Greats Cove in the island of Newfoundland in perfect memory but wake in bodey dust make this my last will and testimony first I gave my sole into the hands of my allmity god who gave it my body to the erth knowing at generell reation I shall reseve the same by the myty power of God And as far my wordly goods I despose of in the following manner:

first I gave to my son William Churchill one half of the stage witch he daw now occupy all so the flakes which he bilt and one forth part of the land to bild fleaks now not bilt to be his and sons for ever

2    I gave to my son John Churchill the other half of the said stage with William with his flakes wich he have got bilt and one forth part of the flake land not bilt to be his and sons forever

3    I gave my son James Churchill one half of my part of the big stag with half of my flake now bilt and one forth part of the flake land un bilt and half of my tow gardens the large garden and the flat rock garden to be his and sons for ever.

I gave to my son Abaslam Churchill my dwell house to be his or ares for ever with one half of my part of the big stage with James and half of my flake now bilt and one forth part of the flake land on bilt and half of the tow gardens with James to be his and sons for ever.

I all so gave to my grand son Simyan son of John my close box to be his Willm my long coat to be his Ann Dorey my g daughter one tea pot and sum fleaks to be hers

If any of my sons should die leaving a widow behind the widow is to be separted on the husband's part but if the widow change hir name she is to have no claim but gave up all claim rite and titill for ever.     I declare this to be my last will and testament before witness present the forth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty eight.
